Clearing the Language Hurdle

My technical problems remain unsolved, can you believe it? I know, it’s been over a week. I’m making do the best I can under the circumstances and praying that my subscribers are receiving my ezines on time and in one piece.
But not from lack of trying. I’ve been working with my host server support guys for as long as the problem’s been there.
You can’t even begin to imagine the language problems we’re having. Everything I’ve said I’ve had to say at least twice, each time using a more simplified paraphrased version than the last.
It’s frustrating to mean one thing and have someone else think it means another. And so they have me on this merry-go-round of supplying them the same info over and over, and still I haven’t got a clue as to where all of that is leading. And I’m not even sure if we’re any closer to solving this problem.
Language problems are very common in global businesses where people from different countries and cultures communicate. Patience is a virtue. Simplifying and paraphrasing are tricks you’ll quickly learn in order to narrow the margin of error. Remember, English is not everyone’s first language. It certainly isn’t mine although it sure feels like it. I shiver to think what would happen if me and the support guys had to communicate in Martian ;o).
