If you’re alone in the office, do you lock the front door?
I remember I was working with another girl in a small office in California. There were only 3 of us who worked there – the boss who was often out of the office, this girl who was the secretary, and me.
Whenever she went out on errands and left me alone at the office, she would ask me to lock the door behind her.
This was probably a good idea especially after the secretary’s encounter once with a drunk. He staggered in obviously badly in need of a hangover cure and started acting crazy.
Fortunately she kept her wits about her and managed to signal for help from someone in the office across the hallway. Since then, she’s been very careful about keeping the front door secured.
