Out with the human-generated spam

It’s pretty clear to me that human-generated spam is becoming a daily pain. There’s no end to spam surprises in the online world, is there?
I used to be very generous and basically left my comment box open to anyone trusting that people who leave remarks would be people who really had something to say, and not after the link back to their site.
Soon I started noticing that these comments were looking more like ads. Some even had the gall to leave multiple links within their comments.
It really leaves me no choice but to set comments to moderation. I’m pretty click-happy these days and anything that even vaguely resembles spam goes out the window, just like that. Moderation is an added chore for me so you can’t blame me for having to be ruthless.
