Deterring the spammers

Over the weekend, I installed a couple of Wordpress plugins that are long overdue. I seem to be getting more and more comment spam probably attracted to my dofollow setup.
I’ve installed Lucia’s Linky Love plugin which allows me to reward those people with a link if they are frequent commenters to my blogs. I’ve set up the plugin to check for the number of times someone leaves a comment.
Only when they reach the number that I’ve set (and I’m not telling what that magic number is) will they get a link from me.
I think it’s only fair and hopefully it will act as a deterrent to spammers who’re just here to try and get a free link with nothing more than a few lines of gibberish.
