The importance of boat insurance
Posted on September 28, 2007 |
If you’re one of those lucky folks who can afford a boat, you should find it very relaxing to take your family out on a boat ride out after a long day plogging at your business.
The important thing is whether you own a boat for business or pleasure, you must ensure you’ve got boat insurance coverage. The seas are unpredictable and it’s hard to say when a perfectly good day may turn stormy. That’s the reality of it.
The tsunami of December 2005 took everyone by surprise. No one expected it to happen and yet when it struck, the damage was unbelievable. Make it a point to check your vessel as well as whether your boat insurance is still valid before you head out to sea.
You can apply online at CoverMyBoat.co.uk and get a boat insurance quote within minutes and they’re so efficient they can get your policy approved almost instantly.

I’m actually considering getting a small boat or cheap used pair of jet skis next season, and I wonder if it would really be worth getting insurance? We don’t get hurricanes or anything up here, so I think as long as you take care of your stuff here, you should be okay. Of course, if you’ve got a really expensive and/or new boat, then that’s another story. I’ve actually been meaning to ask my cousins and my uncle if they carry insurance on their boats, and what kind of premiums they pay.
