A home to sell

We met up for lunch at a relative’s house over the weekend. Interesting that he spent so much money rebuilding it not too long ago only to consider selling it now.
His property is sitting on an expensive piece of real estate but it’s getting too costly to maintain since his kids have all left home now. So I guess it makes sense to sell it and move to a smaller place.
With the ever-escalating cost of living, I’m guessing it won’t be easy to sell the place. The way I see it, the new owner would still have to put in quite a bit of capital to upgrade it.
