How seriously do you take your business?

I’ve been meeting up with relatives from out of town this past week. For some strange reason, they all seem to think that people who work from home are not serious about their work and they only do it to fill up their idle hours.
I’m sure you all agree this is hardly the case. On the contrary, I’m very serious about my business because it’s a source of income for me and I derive a sense of achievement from seeing success in my work.
The fact that this is my own business means I’m constantly working, far more than if I were working for someone else. I’m sure many of us can’t do without our coffee makers because sometimes we burn the midnight oil when we can’t find the time to work during the day.
But try telling that to skeptical relatives and they’re likely to be thinking, yeah right?
