Your space for serious work

I came across Problogger, Darren Rowse’s blog post where he takes us on a tour of what he calls his blogging headquarters.
Hmm, nice home office with lots of natural lighting and executive office furniture that gives it the feel of a real office, i.e. one you can actually get real work done, that is
.
I think this is the key thing to note here. To be effective in your home business, your home office has to exude an official (for lack of a better word) air about it.
When you sit down, it should make you feel comfortable but serious as if your boss were actually looking over your shoulder. Well, of course, we know we’re our own bosses
but you know what I mean.
It’s hard enough as it is to squeeze in a couple of hours of serious, uninterrupted work when we have to juggle the kids as well as the family commitments. So having your own space to work can really make a difference.
