Spam and the lack of business ethics

Over the holidays, I made the mistake of trying to take a picture of a Christmas tree that was displayed just beside one of those credit card promotions kiosks.
The promoter immediately jumped on me and talked me into applying for a credit card that promises discounts to my favorite stores.
I almost knew it was a mistake from the beginning. And I was right. About a week after filling out that lengthy applications form, I started getting spam calls on my cell phone offering term life insurance quotes, holidays to places I’d never heard of, and cooking classes I don’t need.
While I do understand there’s fierce competition out there amongst businesses, I do not appreciate the banks’ unethical practice of selling our personal information to spammers.
