Why do spammers spam?

Is email spam a problem for you? Well, I’m completely overwhelmed that even Outlook’s junk filter doesn’t seem to be doing as good a job as I expected.
It’s supposed to learn to recognize junk mail as well as those that I classify as spam, but spammers are using different addresses each time, so it’s no wonder it’s not catching some of them.
See, what I don’t understand is why spammers spam. It does them no good because clearly with the likes of acne treatment awaiting them, they’re not going to get very far with promoting whatever it is they’re promoting.
So why waste everyone’s time and be knocked out even before anyone gets a chance to read what you have to say? Beats me.
