Don’t bother leaving rubbishy comments

Has anyone else noticed that they’re getting more comment spam, or is it just me? It seems every morning I’m waking up to more and more comment spam in my blogs. Duh!
Since upgrading to WP2.5, I’ve installed Bad Behavior and Spam Karma aside from running Akismet and they’re supposed to work like a charm when used in unison. Yet!!
The thing is a lot of it looks like legit comments except most of it is pretty rubbishy and left by individuals hired by companies just to get a link. But can you see how that’s all a waste of time.
I won’t bother explaining the criteria I use to flag a comment off as spam. All I can say is I’m pretty sticky and merciless when I weed through the comments people leave.
If I even begin to smell a rat, I will go so far as to backtrack and remove comments that I’ve previously approve.
