Want to add some Flash to your site?

Posted on May 17, 2008 |

I’ve always been impressed by websites that use Flash because it makes banners much more catchy and attractive than static gifs, and site intros that use Flash are definitely more elegant.

If you’re like me, you might have thought Flash is pretty hard to create unless you have a good deal of graphic design knowledge and experience. Yes, it does entail a learning curve but it’s doable.

Of course, it helps if you have access to flash components that you can add on to your Adobe/Macromedia Flash. There’s a whole range of extensions offered on FlashLoaded.com that you really should take a look at if you’re harboring even the smallest ambitions about sprucing up your site.

The extensions I can see myself using (if I were to attempt Flash myself) would be the pageFlipper which is so cool, the photoSplash because I’m just starting to hooked on playing around with photos, and the 3D Environment to get some true-to-life interfaces going.

Summer is probably a good down time to be trying out something new like this. I usually try to take up one project that involves a learning curve which I typically won’t have time for during the year.
