reducing expenditure on office supplies

I haven’t been out shopping for my business supplies much lately. I guess it’s good if I can save money and minimize expenditure. So how do I manage without buying supplies?
Actually it wasn’t an intentional thing that I started picking up after my kids and using their half-used stationery in lieu of buying more office supplies. We’ve been going to the bookstore every weekend like clockwork.
As I say, I have no idea why kids need so much stationery these days. Sometimes they buy an item which isn’t what the teacher wants so we end up with stuff they can’t use. Sometimes they use an item halfway and throw it out.
So I ended up with lots of such stationery at my home office desk. I don’t mind using whatever I can instead of throwing them away. It’s such a waste. Rightly or wrongly, that’s how I ended up reducing my expenditure on home business supplies.
