The thing about the computer fair

I was downtown at the computer fair last weekend. As expected, the place was bursting with the weekend crowd. I was there for almost a whole day spending most of my time making my way through the sea of people rather than looking for the stuff I need.
The fair used to be a place to showcase new and emerging technologies. That’s what I used to find so interesting about it. But lately, it seems to have become one huge computer sale and that’s about it.
It’s more the place to buy than to find out what’s new and happening in the world of technology. If I didn’t have a shopping list to fulfill, I’d have gone home almost right away.
