Mulling over a new income stream

Posted on August 18, 2008 | 4 Comments

A couple of posts back, I was talking about topping up my car insurance with all the crazy drivers out there. It’s a good thing I don’t travel much since I work at home and so there are only that many trips I need to make outside home.

I really appreciate that because I used to travel much more when I was working in Corporate Tower and that can really wear you out both mentally and physically.

I’ve been contemplating setting up an eBay store but then again, when I think about having to get out and get stuff shipped off, I just have to think twice.

On top of that, with current gas prices, I may end up making barely enough to cover the cost of my sales. It’s an extra income stream but I must think about it carefully before I jump in.

That’s a really interesting thought. When I sold on eBay, I used a small (yet accurate) scale to weigh the packages and then entered the weight on PayPal and was able to print off a label. Then on the USPS site you can request a pickup!

To top it off, you can buy some really cheap shipping stuff like bubble mailers and tape right off of eBay as long as it’s in bulk (you generally save more with bulk purchases.)

    I hope I was helpful!

No kidding. It is like you have get a part time stream of income to just pay for gas and bills.

I believe UPS and USPS will come to your house if you request a pickup when you ship with them. The UPS and post office both allow you to buy all the shipping supplies you need there. If you plan in advance you can really cut the cost of gas out of the equation. Hope this helps.

I agree with Ascend Training, UPS/USPS will pickup.
