Do your due diligence before responding

I’ve just heard that yet another person has been scammed into buying non-existent products online. It’s sad that unscrupulous people resort to making a quick buck at someone else’s expense.
These are times of economic uncertainty and we should be extra careful when responding to online offers. Like I always say, it pays to take the time to do your own due diligence instead of blindly accepting seemingly good offers that come along.
In the same way that you would examine a new Linksys router at the store before paying for it, you should be doing those same checks on online purchases. You can check at forums, read the testimonials, check out blog comments.
I’m not saying these are 100% fullproof ways of isolating a scam. The important thing is that you may just save yourself from blowing your hard-earned cash.
