Is paid blogging taking a bashing?

Well, the price of gas has come down tremendously since we were last complaining about it. That should be very good news, right?
Yet the prices of other items, which were inadvertently pushed up during the oil price boom, have yet to come down accordingly!
I’m hearing from many bloggers that paid blogging has slowed down tremendously in recent weeks as well.
Word is that advertisers are cutting back and not as willing to part with their advertising bucks now for fear that the global economy will continue to dip further come 2009.
Okay, this can’t be good news. Many paid bloggers need that income to cover part, if not all of their home expenses and they certainly can’t afford to be taking a pay cut.
Sure, they won’t be needing any form of effective diet pills because they’ll be forced to cut back and tighten their belts either way.
No one knows if paid blogging will pick up or die off, but seeing as how this is the peak shopping season, things should not be this bad. So how come paid bloggers are suffering a dip in income?
