Junk today, treasure tomorrow

Posted on January 8, 2009 | 2 Comments

During the holidays, when the internet connection was super slow (it still is now, by the way), I had plenty of time to do some offline housekeeping. Good timing too since it’s the end of the year and that’s the time when I go through my hard disk, decide what to trash and archive the rest.

It’s nothing new. I know I have lots of junk on my hard disk. I’m not in the habit of throwing out old files and documents like disposable diapers. Are you?

And there’s a reason for that. Hard disk space being so inexpensive these days, I have no qualms about keeping all the junk I want. Thing is junk isn’t always junk. Well, it may seem like junk today but you never know when it might come in useful tomorrow or the next day.

If you work solo from home, you know what I mean. We sometimes take hours to write an article or to edit a photo to near-perfection. Just because we’ve used it once doesn’t mean we can’t recycle it at a later time, right? Hence my reason for treating junk like treasure.

Very enthusiastic and motivational. I find this post very good, and I will definately reference it for future readings aswell. I will also digg this, for the convenience of having other people finding a useful article on businesses of your kind.

Junk is for the junkyard. I have one in my backyard and another in my den. Need to get rid of both.
