How does he cover rental?
Posted on February 4, 2009 | 1 Comment
Yesterday while having my lunch packed at a take-out, the restaurant owner and I started talking and he confided in me that the rental for his store space rental at a popular mall has recently gone up and he was already paying a whopping figure to start with.
Of course I was taken aback. I had no idea a small space like that costs almost 10k. I mean, the restaurant serves mainly take-outs with a few tables out front for those who prefer to eat in. It’s not a fancy set-up so I’m wondering how the owner can afford that kind of rental.
I mean, if he were selling some fairly high-priced items like furniture or area rugs, maybe! But this guy’s meals are very reasonably priced and frankly, how much can a cup of coffee and a plate of rice or noodles cost?

yeah rent is ridiculous sometimes…hard to believe he can afford it selling takeout food.
