Pondering posts and comments

I’ve been blogging for a few years now. Up till this point, I’m still trying to figure what draws people to comment on blogs and what sort of comments they draw.
Niche blogs aside, right now, it looks pretty much to me that the blogs that blog about nothing are the ones getting the most attention. Take the mommy blogs, for instance. Some are simply pictures and posts about how naughty the child is or what they’ve been eating but yet they’re raking in lots of comments.
I don’t know about you but I like comments with some meat on them, not the empty ones like “oh, that’s so cute” or “oh, she’s so pretty” day in, day out. It’d nice if people would say something constructive, you know, something for everyone to chew on.
