green tea, lovin’ it
You guys probably know by now how crazy I am about exotic beverages. If I’m not sipping ginseng tea, then it’s sea coconut or glass jelly. Japanese green tea is my current hot fave.
Well, to be honest, I’ve never actually bought Japanese green tea before. I’ve had it at Japanese restaurants, of course, but they were nearly always diluted. So I didn’t acquire a taste for it.
Then someone gave me a few tea bags of the ‘real thing’ to try and now I’m hung on it. I’ve just noticed I haven’t got one single tea bag left. So I went looking to buy a box. Only trouble is there are so many different brands in the stores I just don’t know which one to choose.
At least not without a taste test. Where are those little promotional counters when you need them? Desperate, I closed my eyes and whisked one off the shelf on the off chance that it would be a winner .
Green tea has a strangely pacifying effect on me. I drink it when I’m stressed or tired, and it works wonders to calm me down. You have to drink it fairly thick though, otherwise it doesn’t taste as good. But I’m told it’s not a good idea to drink it everyday. The Chinese believe green tea is very cooling and can weaken your body system if you overdo it.
