the mandarin lady strikes again

I did it again this morning. Handed out mandarins to the sweeper and another guard, and the sun just came up from their faces.
I love it. I get a warm feeling from this even though mandarins are just a small token. It’s not like I’m giving away heaps of money or anything.
Still the feeling is a nice one. Every year before Chinese New Year, I send rice and oil to the temple. But because I just leave them there and don’t stick around to see them distributed or eaten or used, I don’t get that warm fuzzy feeling I get from seeing someone’s face light up with surprise and delight when they get an orange!
