losing a family stronghold?
I took the kids out for a quick bite to eat at a popular fast food place. In my mind, this has always been the wholesome family hangout where parents unleash their kids and everyone has a screaming good time and their fill of fries.
Today my entire perception of the place was changed just being in there for a short half hour. First off, I only saw one kid in there besides mine, of course. That struck me as strange.
Instead, the place was brimming with the rather sleazy-looking types - smoking, playing cards and all over each other. For a moment, I didn’t recognize the place. Maybe it has to do with this being a Friday evening. But to a mom, this can’t be good news.
Well, whatever it is, I hope this scenario is only temporary, otherwise I would never feel safe having my kids hang out there, especially their friends. I left the place a little sad that we might just have lost a wholesome family stronghold.
