festive food prices

I think we’ve saved quite a bit of money this year by not eating out at Chinese restaurants during the Chinese New Year (LOL).

Yep, we actually avoid eating out at Chinese restaurants during this time because they typically charge much more for dishes with auspicious names.

So you’re actually paying more for a dish that sounds auspicious rather than one that tastes special, better or different. When I meet up with some friends at this time, we usually go for Western food where we know we won’t be paying through our noses. Chinese food is great, but we get to eat it all year at regular prices.
