island days
There’s nothing quite like sitting on the beach, watching the tide roll in, listening to the sound of waves as they crash on the shore, feeling the breeze on your face and in your hair.
I remember lazier days, much lazier before all of this city madness began. I would sit for hours looking out to sea. Those were carefree days, no worries, no fears, no rush, the treasured times of an island childhood.
This would be a rare luxury these days. Life has picked up tremendously in pace since. Living in the city, the sea is out of sight, out of mind mostly.
There’s no time to ponder the beauty of nature, no time to sit and daydream. We’re just too busy. There’s always one more errand to run, one more hurried meal to make.
I wish I had my island days back.

Sometimes I feel we make ourselves appear more busy than we actually are. Maybe we need to relax more without feeling guilty about it.
You post made me think…
I am glad to have found your blog through Sunday Scribblings.
I hope that you get to see the ocean soon.
