true blue city girl

Much as I like to complain about the rush of everyday life, I have a need for speed that only the city can offer. Yes, I’m very much a city person. Born and bred.

Not that I don’t love the country. I love scenic places and nature in full bloom. But there’s a limit to how much I can take of country life. Put me in a small town where people stroll instead of walk, dine instead of eat, turtle instead of drive and I’m ready to pack up and leave. Honestly.

Typically if I have to be anywhere where life is in slow mo, I try to get in and out within 24 hours, just before I have a chance to fall asleep on my feet. When I go on vacation, I can’t lie on the beach with a book or do nothing all day.

I’m up at the crack of dawn, surfing the net or digesting travel brochures, and planning my agenda for the day. If that agenda happens to include a couple of malls where I can shop at leisure for a few hours, then you can be sure I’ll be on Cloud Nine all day!

  1. Though I agree with you about the city part but on a vacation I choose to do nothing!

  2. I understand your need for speed. But reading a good book, curled up somewhere quiet, acting the lazy soul is something I think I could enjoy for quite a bit.

  3. I love living in a small city, the best of both worlds. On vacation, I love to relax and not do much, but absolutely never lie on the beach.

  4. I love the honesty of this post! No wishy washy here.

Care to share your secrets? I really need to learn how to relax and do nothing LOL.
