of dinner conversations and Spain
Like I always say, we need a holiday to recover from a holiday. I know we just got back from a short vacation but already me and the kids are talking endlessly about where to go next.
We watch a lot of Discovery Travel and Living on TV. So we’re never short of places to drool about, going “ooh, now that’s where I want to go, just look at all that building, it’s beautiful…” or “gosh, I could eat that every day!”
Inspired by our recent holiday by the sea, our dinner time conversations seem to center around coastal places. We watched a travel program about Spain some time ago and Costa Blanca stands out as some sort of a summer paradise.
Up and down the coast from the centrally located alicante airport are seaside cities and towns that beckon. The tiny rustic villages that dot the beaches are simply breathtaking and they each seem to have their own unique attractiveness about them.
Born and bred on an island myself, I know and love the slow and laidback days of sun, sea and surf. I think the best way to get around is on a bicycle.
You can stop any time anywhere when you see something you fancy or to snap some photos. It’s also a great way to get up close to locals who often have interesting stories to share and sites to recommend.
You know, you can’t go to a place and not talk to the locals. In fact, my first question is almost always about where I can find the best local food.
Sometimes the kids and I are just so engrossed discussing possible travel destinations that we forget to clear the dishes. I don’t think we’ll be planning any big trips right now but it’s always good to dream. Meantime, the Discovery channel will keep our dinner conversations lively.
