the sea in your backyard

Looking out across the bay when I was in Penang recently, I saw whole lines of new houses along the seafront. From my hotel room window, which is a far way off, I noticed they are unoccupied. The binoculars proved me right.
Right away, it got me wondering how much a house like that sitting right on the seafront would cost. I mean, real estate does not come cheap on the island because space is so precious.
A friend told me they cost close to a million each and have all been sold to date. Whoa! Sounds like there’s a whole lot of filthy rich folks out there! Fancy having the sea in your own backyard! I think that would make me one very happy camper
