is your home office office-like?
Can office furniture be adapted to home use? This was a question someone asked me a while ago. I said, sure, why not? These days, lots of people work from home (me included) from a home office.
Although when we source to furnish our home offices, we tend to focus on the word ‘home’. But sometimes the fact that work is happening from the ‘home’ makes us buy furniture that’s way too comfortable and cozy.
So instead of stepping into a working environment, which incidentally should come with a working mindset, we step into a cozy room in the house that isn’t quite the most conducive for work.
As a result, we potter around and sit back more than we would in an ‘office’ office which can be counter-productive at times. So it’s the environment that predicts the productivity.
