good-for-nothing sandals
The other day, I went to the mall and just as I stepped inside, my shoe broke. If ever there was a super-good excuse to buy a new pair of shoes right there, this was it.
Happily I “limped” my way to the nearest shoe store and picked out a pair of thong sandals, you know, the tropical-themed ones. Not what I would wear normally but the store didn’t seem to have much of a selection.
It was only when I went to pay for it that I realized how incredibly expensive thong sandals had become. I’ve only ever had one pair of these sandals when I was a teenager. In those days, they were plain, much less fancy and cost a fraction of the price now.
At any rate, I was desperate. So I paid for it and went on my merry way to lunch with my daughters.
I think that between me and my girls, we must’ve only worn the sandals a total of like 5 times when it finally snapped. OMG, can you believe I paid a small fortune for that miserable thing and it broke in less than a week??!!! :shock:
