a nice, low-key day

Yesterday was a particularly nice day. Haven’t had one this quiet and slow in a long while. The kids were all busy studying for their midterms with huge doses of mp3s and chatting amongst themselves when I wasn’t looking.
DH and I spent the afternoon watching a movie downstairs, not sure what the name of the movie was because I didn’t watch it from the start. Nevertheless it was the sort of quiet weekend afternoon with a light warm breeze blowing through the French doors and a stillness in the air.
By the end of the movie, it was almost a little late to start cooking dinner. So we grabbed the kids and headed out for a nice dinner and waffles for dessert afterwards. Hmm, it was a really nice low-key stress-free day.
