interested in teaching?
When kids reach the crossroads, they are often undecided about what kind of careers they would like to pursue. I know my son went through a period of uncertainty as to what he wants to do after he’s done in college.
If your child is interested in a career in teaching, the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship provides recent college graduates and career changers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) with an opportunity to pursue an intensive master’s degree at one of 14 participating universities.
Candidates who have graduated with an undergraduate degree in a STEM field by June 2011 with a 3.o GPA or higher will be considered if they show a commitment to this amazing program and its goals.
Fellows will then complete a field-based master’s degree in teacher education and commit themselves to teaching for at least 3 years in a high-need school. Not to worry, they will be mentored in the classroom and receive intensive support.
There’s a real need for teachers in the STEM fields right now so if you or your kids are interested in education, the fellowship is now recruiting, preparing and retaining teachers for the schools that need them most.
Be sure you check out the details on www.wwteachingfellowship.org and also watch the video below for more information.
